About You


You are a person who is passionate about playing a critical role in driving Signature Performance's growth within the federal contracting space by identifying, tracking, and evaluating federal business opportunities that align with the organization's strategic priorities, both near-term and long-term. We need someone who is responsible for providing timely, accurate, and high-quality intelligence on potential federal contracts and procurement initiatives. In the role of the Business Development Specialist you will be responsible for assessing the strategic fit, potential value, competitive landscape, and alignment of opportunities with Signature Performance's core capabilities and growth objectives.

About The Position



  • Monitor and vet federal contract opportunities daily using platforms such as Deltek (GovWin), GovTribe, SAM.gov, and GSA eBuy.
  • Screen opportunities based on predefined criteria, including scope, contract type, agency, contract value, NAICS code, and alignment with corporate capabilities.
  • Assist with providing timely and comprehensive summaries of vetted opportunities to the Business Development team and other internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in adding all identified opportunities to the Business Development pipeline to support opportunity development and conversation.
  • Add all qualified opportunities to Salesforce for tracking.
  • Participate in internal opportunity review meetings and capture planning sessions as required.
  • Support the creation of company profiles for capture research
  • Participate in the early stages of color team reviews for federal proposal efforts
  • Request and maintain Unanet code requests for each opportunity in our pipeline
  • Ensure that federal contact information is current for the holiday distribution list.
  • Provide administrative support as needed to the marketing department for federal initiatives

Minimum Requirements:



  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business, communications, public administration, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
  • 1--3 years of experience in business development, communications, or a related field.
  • General understanding of federal healthcare agencies
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM systems, such as Salesforce
  • Proficient in SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously that have strict deadlines.


Preferred Requirements:



  • Familiarity with federal procurement platforms (Deltek/GovWin, SAM.gov, GSA eBuy).
  • Understanding of federal contracting vehicles (e.g., VA T4NG2, GSA MAS, CIO-SP3, OASIS+).
