We are seeking a CADD Operator/Design Engineer to join our federal team based in Huntsville, AL. Our team here gets the unique opportunity to support some of our top government and military sites all over the United States, as well as some overseas, with electronic security system designs and drawings, primarily related to the access controls, intrusion detection, and CCTV camera systems.

We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure.

Pay range: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience.
Shift:
Primarily works first shift (day shift), 7:00am-4:00pm or 8:00am-5:00pm (employees choice), Monday-Friday.
Benefits:
Eligible for benefits on first day of employment
Vacation:
3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays per calendar year

As a CADD Operator/Design Engineer, you will:




  • Under direct supervision, operates computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) system to produce simple and complex drawings, primarily 2D drawings. Interfaces with engineers to produce complete engineering drawing layout packages
  • Provides CADD design services in support of client modifications and construction projects
  • Plots drawings using CADD system as requested by internal customers
  • Finds and file drawings as needed in both paper and electronic formats
  • Locates and collect data for input to the CADD system database from documentation and field verification obtained from engineers. Revises CADD drawings to reflect actual conditions, including site and facility system plans.
  • Revises existing CADD drawings to meet defined standards
  • Performs routine computer maintenance, including backups, and file maintenance
  • Operates a variety of office and publication equipment such as copy machines, plotters, etc
  • Complies with Johnson Controls policies and procedures and adheres to Johnson Controls standards
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested



Required Qualifications:



  • Experience working with AutoCAD or Visio
  • Must understand drawing standards
  • Possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to quality performance



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Familiarity with CADD software packages
  • Experience in design build construction
  • Experience working with commercial or industrial Electronic Security System designs or drawings (access controls, intrusion detection, CCTV camera, etc)



Preferred Education:



  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Design Drafting, Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Management, or a related technical field
