The Stellantis Powertrain organization is currently seeking a Powertrain Machinist, Experimental - Prototype R&D, who will be responsible for CNC programing and operation of 3 axis mills. This Machinist will use computer-aided software (NX11) and a 3D model to create cutter path.

The Machinist:



  • Must have the ability to operate basic machine shop equipment
  • Must be comfortable holding tight tolerances
  • Must have advanced shop mathematic skills to include a thorough understanding of metal properties, layout, and manufacturing procedures
  • Must have sound knowledge of feeds and speeds for maximum material removal
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Basic Qualifications:



  • A minimum of a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience as a Machinist
  • Must have a Prototyping/Product development background
  • Demonstrated proficiency with running multiple types of shop equipment (Bridgeport's, lathes, grinders, etc.)
  • Core CNC competencies, with strong knowledge of G&M codes
  • Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend complex blueprints
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) and Datum Referencing
  • Precision and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to surface grind, ID/OD grinding
  • Demonstrated ability to verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and dial indicators
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to assess speeds and feeds, and make adjustments as necessary to optimize run-time
  • Demonstrated ability to track and review tool wear; changing or replacing tools as needed
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office and/or Google G Suite tools
  • Requires frequent bending, reaching and lifting of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Demonstrated ability to follow safety rules, regulations and to have good safe shop practices
  • Must have own hand tools



Preferred Qualifications:

Proto-Trac Mill/Lathe experience



  • Experienced in cylinder head pressure taps (Kistler)
  • Basic understanding of World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
