Overview
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides executive leadership and direction for the day-to-day operations of Oklahoma Heart Hospital Physicians (OHHP). The COO is responsible for integrating the organization's strategic plan into operational execution, ensuring that all outpatient clinic activities are aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. In collaboration with the CEO, the COO oversees clinical operations, physician relations, strategic initiatives, and administrative functions to achieve high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-centered care throughout the statewide network of clinics.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Translate organizational strategy into operational plans and performance objectives.
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute short- and long-term business goals.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across all clinical sites.
Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations of all outpatient clinics, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality, service, and financial performance.
- Ensure effective resource utilization, including staffing, facilities, and technology, to optimize patient care delivery.
Physician and Staff Leadership
- Provide leadership and guidance to physicians, clinic managers, and administrative staff to foster collaboration and accountability.
- Assist the CEO with physician recruitment, onboarding, retention, and engagement strategies.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, respect, and professional excellence.
Financial Oversight
- Partner with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to develop, manage, and monitor operating budgets.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure alignment between operational performance and financial sustainability.
Clinical Program Development
- Oversee the design and implementation of integrated clinical programs that improve quality and access to care.
- Collaborate with medical leadership to ensure clinical best practices and evidence-based care.
- Support innovation in patient care models, technology integration, and telehealth expansion.
Compliance and Quality
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Champion quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Maintain a focus on delivering exceptional patient experience across all sites.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in healthcare operations, preferably within a multi-site physician practice or integrated health system.
- Demonstrated success in physician relations, operational management, and strategic execution.
