Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Clinical Social Worker for
RHS Counseling & Psych Services. This position works under the general direction and leadership of
RSH-
CAPS Assistant Director of Integrated Care, or designee.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Offers a full range of psychological interventions for students including immediate triage of student needs, crisis intervention, clinical case management, and structured group and individual psychotherapeutic treatment primarily in the three on-campus student health centers.
- Offers prevention, intervention, and postvention community based services for faculty, staff, and students.
- Collaborates with other professionals in a multi-disciplinary University based mental health and medical services.
- Supports and/or supervises within CAPS clinical training programs including clinical internships for master's level social work interns.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field, and at least three (3) years of full-time clinical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

| Certifications/Licenses |
- New Jersey Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
|
| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Interest/experience with evidence-based treatments for common concerns for university students including depression, anxiety, affective dysregulation, substance use, trauma, and eating difficulties, etc.
- Familiarity with developmental issues of college students and psychosocial/behavioral components of acute and chronic health concerns.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and skill in working with diverse students, staff and faculty. Must be adept in assessing suicide risk and developing appropriate dispositions and safety plans.
- Experience working with young adults.
- Experience with providing brief psychosocial, clinical, and case management interventions as part of an interdisciplinary team.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- At least one year of experience delivering clinical mental health services in a primary care or medical setting as part of as collaborative interdisciplinary team.
- Experience in a higher level of mental health care (crisis, inpatient, partial hospital, intensive outpatient).
- Demonstrated experience in areas relevant to work with university students seeking mental health and medical care including daytime on-call, walk-in services, triage and rapid assessment, suicide and violence risk screening, skills necessary to conduct brief assessments and to offer guidance to students to pursue mental health and/or medical treatment as clinically indicated.
- Specialized expertise and/or experience in working with Students of Color, the LGBTQ community, first generation or other marginalized populations, and/or students with chronic medical conditions.
