Job Overview A leading communications contractor is seeking experienced Aerial Construction Crew Members to support a variety of HFC/Broadband infrastructure projects. Technicians will work in two-person field teams (including a groundhand/helper) on projects such as BAU, spans, relocations, Hyperbuild, Newbuild, and Metro-E deployments. This role is based in the Tennessee market, with potential expansion into other regions. Key Responsibilities * Perform aerial cable construction tasks including: * Overlashing * Strand deployment * Pole mounting and transfers * Anchor installation * Make-readies * Fiber and coaxial cable pulling * Splicing (if qualified; otherwise, dedicated splicers provided) * Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings * Produce post-construction as-builts and mark-ups * Execute work with a focus on safety, quality, and production efficiency * Collaborate with construction coordinators and adhere to project standards Top Skills Required * Experience * 3+ years in aerial power or telecommunications construction * Proficiency in overlashing, pole transfers, coax/fiber installation, anchors, strand, and make-readies * Technical Knowledge * Strong understanding of HFC, fiber, or coaxial scopes of work * Ability to read blueprints and produce accurate as-builts * Execution & Safety * Demonstrated ability to manage work execution and production * Commitment to maintaining safety standards and compliance Additional Qualifications * Knowledge of HFC network design * Effective communication and teamwork skills * Punctuality and reliability (7:00 AM start time) * Willingness to be on-call for after-hours emergencies * Valid driver's license * Fluent in English * Ability to lift 25 lbs or more * High School Diploma or GED Preferred Attributes * Experience in fast-paced, outdoor environments * Adaptability to work in varying weather conditions * Familiarity with standardized advancement processes Employee Value Proposition * Company vehicle provided during contract and permanent employment * Strong company culture with clear paths for career advancement * Upon permanent hire: * 2 weeks paid vacation * 1 week sick leave * Competitive 401(k) match (100% vested after 1 year) * Comprehensive benefits package * Phone stipend Business Drivers This role supports national broadband expansion initiatives, including: * Cable TV infrastructure growth * Remote workforce enablement * 5G network deployment Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnson City, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
