Definition:

The responsibility of the Engineering Operations Manager is heavily hands-on with some administrative responsibilities. This person is responsible for Engineering results, leading by example with the Engineering department to encourage them to improve service and productivity and hold them accountable. The Operations Manager must show consistency among principles, values and behavior, by building strong relationships with Engineering department and the rest of the associates and managers of the Resort.

General Duties:




  • RT PM Rooms



    • Manage all repairs of all types of hardware, plumbing, electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners, cosmetic items, replacing electrical switches and outlets and programming TVs.
    • Ensure that all rooms are inspected weekly and are up to Horseshoe Bay Resort standards.
    • Manage PRT records to track progress and ensure that PRT is being conducted at a minimum of 3 times per year.
    • Ensure and inspect VIP arrival rooms after VIP PRT is completed to confirm the room is in true VIP condition for arriving guests.


    Public Areas



    • Weekly walks to inspect public areas to ensure wallcovering, paint, lights, ceilings, and vending areas are in good condition and kept to Horseshoe Bay Resort Standards.
    • Inspect exterior railings, facades, rockwork, sidewalks, bridges, and exterior paneling to ensure they are in good condition.


    Hotsos



    • Manage tickets that are created by priority and delegate to engineers or trade workers and follow up with completion in a timely manner.
    • Provide weekly and monthly Hotsos reports to Director of Engineering for follow up with OPS personnel, RM, and Managing Director.
    • Provide updated corporate audit monthly logs to be signed by RM or Managing Director per internal audit guidelines.


    Accident Prevention and Safety



    • Be aware of all existing departmental Job Safety Analysis and strive to work in an accident-free manner and to create a safe work environment for others.
    • Continuously look for conditions which may endanger associates or guests of the hotel and take immediate action to correct any hazardous conditions found.
    • Report any emergency repairs and make sure tickets are tracked and completed in a timely manner. Engineering Operations Manager must report any safety issues immediately to Director of Engineering.


    Records



    • Read, log, and track readings from meters, gauges and other measuring units.
    • Maintain a thorough log of each day's activities and problems that occur and to ensure this information is passed on to other shifts.




Employment standards:



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience with hotel or resort Engineering, Maintenance, and Management
  • Proven ability managing and leading teams of 10 or more
  • Strong management and leadership qualities with ability to lead teams on full-scale projects, resort-wide
  • Minimum five years experience in Engineering management


Physical & Mental Requirements:



  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Must have normal vision or corrective lenses.
  • Must have neat and clean overall appearance.
  • Must be able to walk and sit as a daily routine.
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs as a daily routine.
  • Must be able to communicate and disseminate information accurately, either written or verbally, with the general public or associates.
  • Must be able to comprehend reading materials.
  • Ability to work alone without supervision
  • High School Certificate with emphasis in Technical Trades.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Must be able to interact with co-workers and have a sense of TEAM.
