SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

SouthState Bank is embarking on a strategic journey to transform how we interact with our customers in the digital world. This Testing Specialist position will be critical to our success by collaborating with project team members, line of business leaders, and outside consultants (as needed) to develop and execute testing activities related to these key strategic initiatives.The role of the DigitalTesting Specialist will be to plan, design, deploy, and manage effective test planning and performance for user acceptance related to the Terafina platform, and other platforms if needed, including features, and functionality. This person will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help manage systems or software application issues through careful testing to maximize the benefit of our channels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage the translation of business requirements and use cases into test conditions and ensure expected results for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing are well defined.

  • Evaluate, plan, design, develop, and deploy testing techniques for digital initiatives as required.

  • Develop and execute test scripts, cases, and scenarios that will determine optimal system performance according to specifications and defined expected results.

  • Manage testing activities in a manner to ensure that the solution delivery meets business requirements and project goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve application issues applicable to deployed technology.

  • Determine and orchestrate all types of application testing such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.

  • Manage delivery and collection of formal test findings/results from testing resources to discover and resolve defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.

  • Collaborate with project team members, line of business leaders, outside consultants, analysts, and application owners to develop test strategy and plans for digital initiatives.

  • Produce and present testing status reports and documentation for all testing efforts, results, activities, data, issue logging, and tracking as required for CAB, Audit, and SOX requirements, working with a Testing Manager, if assigned.

  • Provide proactive communication to project stakeholders and/or line of business leaders related to project and business as usual testing results/findings, their risks, and the steps being taken to mitigate these risks.

BUSINESS

  • Contribute to in-depth end-user reviews for digital solutions and related dependencies.

  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of testing best practices.

  • Adhere to existing processes/standards including the system development life cycle (SDLC), business technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines, and escalate issues as required.

PROFESSIONAL

  • Serve as a resource for change enablement by embracing change and championing new ideas/opportunities, demonstrating knowledge expertise and training and performance support needs.

  • Ensure all CAB requirements are met as expected.

  • Prioritize and manage own workload to deliver quality results and meet timelines.

  • Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units.

  • Knowledge of bank and project, business analysis, and testing methodologies.

  • Ability to read communication styles of team members, and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.

  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.

  • Possess excellent organizational skills and is detail oriented.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: College degree preferred but not required.

  • Experience: 5+ years banking; Two (2) years related experience, ideally supporting digital banking solutions preferred but not required. Additionally, Two (2) years related experience in test/quality assurance, change management, environment management and project management preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in testing and relationship management.

  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Preferred ITIL, PMP, CAP-M, helpful but not required MS Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, SharePoint & Salesforce;

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with the use of the right desk. This position may require bending and reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

For telecommuters or hybrid: Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology are delivered.

Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.
