  • Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma and tertiary care center and home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue.

Responsibilities

  • Provides care to patients suffering cardiopulmonary, neurological, or other metabolic disturbances, which require quality Electrocardiographs (EKGs), Holter Monitors, Event Monitors, or Cardiac Stress Tests.
  • Communicates with physicians concerning procedures, instructs patients, takes phone orders, manages files, schedules procedures, and performs other cardiopulmonary care services, as directed.
  • Assists the medical provider in the delivery of patient care and patient teaching according to clinic policies and protocols.
  • Performs EKGs and is able to interpret EKGs, rhythm strips, and recognize specific abnormal heart rhythms.
  • Provides device interrogation, recognizing abnormal rhythm, and reporting.
  • Contributes to the assessment of the patient's health status by collecting, recording, and reporting objective and subjective data. Timely, consistently, and accurately documents all patient interactions.
  • Answers phones and responds to messages in a timely manner. Communicates and interacts with all customers
    (patients, visitors, co-workers, administrative staff, and physicians) in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Demonstrates efficiency and dependability with assigned job responsibilities and cross-trains, as appropriate, to assist other staff members in their job duties.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High school Graduation or Equivalent.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Two years experience preferred
