Data science professionals are responsible for mining valuable insights from data by converting data inquiries into a structured analytical dataset that supports organizational decision-making, regulatory reporting, advanced modeling, and visual representations. Essential competencies include collecting and organizing analytical data through data management platforms, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, contributing to the interpretation and proper use of data, aiding in the creation of data analysis and sampling strategies, engineering tools for efficient data pipeline utilization, offering important observations related to essential business performance indicators, collaborating with stakeholders to accommodate their data system requirements while resolving data-centric technical hurdles, and effectively presenting analytical findings to meet regulatory standards. These professionals are expected to work in collaboration with users, various technical teams, and stakeholders to perform their roles successfully and manage the data system effectively. They should also be innovative in problem-solving to deliver reliable and technically sound outcomes.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

Responsible for developing, implementing, and improving technical solutions within Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) for functional areas across SRNS. The ideal candidate will have understanding of advanced analytics, data warehouse architecture, and OAS development. This individual will play a critical role in leveraging Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) to drive actionable insights. Responsibilities include the following:
- Collaborate with various organizations including but not limited to Finance, Workforce Services, Supply Chain, and Project Controls, to gather data requirements, design data models, and ensure integration with existing systems.
- Translate complex analytical concepts and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Leverage emerging trends and best practices to drive analytical solutions.
- Integrate software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, change management, vulnerability scanning, and debuggers in the software development process.
- Guide personnel to ensure efficient utilization of resources and adherence to technical standards, lead the analysis and development of requirements, design specifications, and final products by reviewing systems documentation, plans, and schedules.
- Leverage OAS to develop predictive models that provide valuable insights.
- Communicate project progress status, potential barriers, and risks timely
- Formulate strategies to mitigate risks.
- Adopt and promote Agile Methodologies, participating in daily scrum, sprint planning, and sprint review meetings.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security in all analytical processes.
- Propose and implement innovative analytical solutions to drive data transformation.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least ten years of experience (YOE), OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least eight years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE)
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered
* Knowledge of Data Architecture/ Data Modeling, and Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) to support business intelligence and data warehouse applications.
* Minimum of five years OAS development experience.

We'd Also Like to See

The ideal candidate has experience with the OAS (Oracle Analytics Server) Tool Suite and demonstrate a strong background in data warehouse architecture and design using Oracle Analytics Server products. The candidate must be self-motivated, ambitious and capable of effectively interacting with users and other analysts to translate business and integration requirements into configurable component designs and solutions. A high level of technical proficiency is preferred in all areas of BI development from configuration, requirements, modeling and security.
Other preferred qualifications include:
* Advanced knowledge of OAS and Oracle Database components.
* Advanced experience with BI Data Modeling conducive to Star Schema Enterprise reporting models.
* Advanced technical knowledge with BI Administration Tool.
* Advanced experience in the application and use of metadata tools, security and user interface designs.
* Manage repository layers for an integrated design and to meet specific business area needs.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
