Interstate Assembly Systems is looking for an independent and driven individual to join our team as a Service Technician at our Sacramento California location.

Pay range: $22-$30/Hour DOE

The Service Technician will be responsible for performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial diesel engines, generators, IMT service trucks, and custom lube trucks. This work requires a solid working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as the ability to quickly learn and retain technical information and direction provided by the Shop Foreman and Technical Support Team.

This position also offers the opportunity to support our Field Service division. When needed, the technician will travel to customer sites and locations to provide on-site diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair services.

Mechanic Job Duties

• Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all types of truck bodies and associated components. (We work on Fuel/Lube/Mechanic bodies and everything on the body side- no chassis repairs*)
• Repair and troubleshoot engines such as Kubota, Honda, and Kohler engines (Air Compressor, Welder/Generator/Pump Engines)
• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all heavy-duty components
• Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department, and customers
• Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion
• Meet requirements for certifications
• Administrative duties as related to position

Desired Skills and Qualities

• Technical degree or certification a plus
• Experience working with diesel / gasoline engines and heavy-duty trucks
• Positive attitude and the ability to set goals and accomplish them
• The desire to take advantage of opportunities to have the most updated product training
• Solid written and verbal communication skills

Experience/Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Lean Methodologies preferred.
• 2 Years of Material Handling experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experienced with all material handling equipment such as forklifts & Reach lifts.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to lift 25-50lbs routinely.
• Occasionally lift over 50lbs.
