Job Description




As a Security Guard - Building Patrol Driver in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol commercial real estate locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. This is a driving post, requiring you to navigate the property and respond promptly to situations as they arise. You will provide outstanding customer service and communicate clearly with clients and visitors, all while embodying our values of reliability, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and tenants by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and its perimeter to observe and report any unusual activity, helping to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and report any irregularities or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal procedures.
  • Assist with crowd management and/or access control as required based on the needs of the commercial real estate location.
  • Collaborate with property management and/or law enforcement when necessary during incidents or emergencies.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a sense of security-related assurance to the community.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
