Introduction

The Loudoun County Office of Elections & Voter Registration manages all federal, state, and local elections for the voters of Loudoun County, and is dedicated to ensuring that all eligible voters have the right to cast their vote safely, securely, and efficiently. Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Election Manager to oversee the operations of the Election Division. The Election Division manages the recruitment, assignment, and training of approximately 1,500 election officers to serve at the counties 107 election day precincts, 5 early voting sites, and central absentee precinct; ensures that all election day precincts are adequately supplied with needed technology and materials; and manages the election record retention program.

The ideal candidate would possess a strong desire to serve the public, have excellent customer service skills, be detail oriented and thorough, be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of constituencies verbally and in writing, and be able to function in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Oversee daily operations of the Election Division, establish goals and monitor progress

-Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and policies

-Manage the recruitment, hiring, training and performance of division staff

-Oversee the recruitment, assignment, and training of election officers

-Work with assigned staff to develop and implement innovative training programs

-Ensure that all supplies, materials and instructions are accurate and ready for election day

-Oversee after-election process to ensure compliance and provide feedback

-Manage communication with all locations used as polling places

-Serve as a member of the office Senior Management Team and consult on strategic planning

-Oversee special projects and initiatives

Hiring salary commensurate with experience.



Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or other related field; five (5) years related work experience including one (1) year of supervisory or team lead experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in elections and those who have obtained a Certified Registration and Elections Administrator (CERA) certification

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Criminal, credit, and DMV background checks are required.

All staff in the Office of Elections are required to work nights and weekends around elections as needed.
