Position Summary:

The Data Engineering Manager will partner with business function leaders to understand and align with business outcomes. They will lead and direct information technology teams, identifying needs and opportunities for improving processes and functions, and provide leadership for technology identification, evaluation & implementation. They will develop and implement sourcing strategies and programs to recruit and select both permanent and globally sourced contract staff.

What you will do:

  • Understand existing, new & emerging technologies, and utilize this knowledge to partner with other IT leaders and third parties to deliver business value through achieving business outcomes.

  • Facilitate the identification and selection of technology solutions and management of these technology partners.

  • Lead team to implement current digital technology solutions that enable transformational change to achieve business outcomes.

  • Assist business partners and business transformation teams in the identification, prioritization, and documentation of systems improvements that achieve business outcomes & deliver business value.

  • Ensure that systems meet service level agreements & internal controls, and adhere to Information Security policies & standards.

  • Deliver strategic projects while adhering to appropriate delivery management disciplines, development methodologies, and architectural standards.

  • Ensure that the portfolio of systems within their domain remain technically viable.

  • Work with other IT Leadership to determine priorities and resolve resource constraints.

  • Maintain awareness of competitive threats and architectural opportunities, and prepare application/platform roadmaps that address these trends and issues, balancing trade-offs between usability, security, and performance needs.

  • Grow and develop high performing teams using appropriate staffing sourcing and talent development.

  • Evaluate risks (solution, business, technology, staffing), and develop plans and actions to mitigate those risks.

  • Manage technology cost/benefit & ROI, particularly in their area (includes managing licensing, benefit realization, & TCO).

  • Facilitate and improve Information Technology processes.

  • May participate in on-call rotation for escalation purposes.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

When you will work:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

  • Hybrid Work Schedule: 4 days in office in Wyoming, MI or Atlanta, GA, with 1 day remote.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or related field required.

  • Eight years previous information technology experience with two years previous supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Experience leading teams that develop in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS or Azure)

  • Experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, Airflow, QLIK Replicate or similar products

  • Familiarity with concepts of Data Structures, Data Modeling, Databases, ETL, ELT, Data Lake, Data Warehousing

  • Ability to foster and develop partnering relationships with business function leaders and other teams.

  • Strong collaboration & influencing skills.

  • Ability to identify, grow and develop team members.

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be organized and have strong planning skills and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Must have the ability to balance multiple priorities and be able to work both independently and within a team environment.
