Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE: Principally involved in supporting laboratory-based assay development efforts. Executes experiments under guidance, analyzes data, and presents findings to support ongoing research initiatives.

CORE DUTIES:

1. Work under the supervision of a senior scientist to learn and apply assay technology in the development of assays relevant to senescence research.

2. Conduct laboratory experiments at the bench, following established protocols and documentation practices.

3. Analyze experimental data, draw conclusions, and communicate findings to team members.

4. Generate clear and concise technical documentation and contribute to internal scientific documentation and external literature.

5. Review and interpret scientific literature to support experimental planning and learning.

6. Integrate information from multiple sources to assist in experimental design.

7. Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Acts with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.

8. Embracing and being open to incorporating Promega's 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work.

9. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School diploma or proven work experience that ensures you are ready to be successful in this role.

2. Interest in life sciences and scientific research.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Current enrollment in a college or university academic program

2. Foundational experience with laboratory research methods and safety practices.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to remain stationary for several hours at a time while working at a lab bench or hood.

2. Ability to work at a laboratory bench with standard lab materials and equipment.

3. Ability to wear protection gear (e.g., gloves, lab coat, safety glasses).

4. Ability to operate a computer.
