Cape Fox Facilities Services is seeking an experienced Recruitment and Outreach Specialistsupport of the overall functions of the OD/Office of Science Management and Operations (OSMO), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

The total hourly pay for this exempt position is$45.59for up to 40 hours per week. This rate represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, for eligible positions we offer a variety of benefits including specified holidays, paid leave, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as 401K with company match. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.



  • Track and support incoming media inquiries and interview requests, content for press releases, byline articles andkeynote presentations, and public relations needs that increase the effectiveness of communications products inmeeting the needs and requirements of the VRC.
  • Track and archive VRC information and messages that have been reviewed by subject matter experts and assist withdisseminating information as requested to increase the effectiveness of written communications products in meetingthe needs and requirements of the VRC.
  • Prepare briefing materials and complex scientific summaries on a broad range of diseases and research areas thatfocus on VRC activities.
  • Support internal and external communications methods which may include intranet, internal newsletter, electronicsignage, policy, strategic plans, and student tours with messaging.
  • Support the development of an annual editorial calendar and processes for the internal newsletter around VRC'scommunications initiatives and major events worthy of public attention.
  • Assist in ensuring that all public messages, materials, and strategies for target audiences are credible, clear, andmeaningful.
  • Develop specialized materials covering highly complex subject matter areas for various purposes and audiences.
  • Provide advice and conduct reviews of materials prepared by other NIAID division staff.
  • Develop scientific and technical materials regarding VRC's research programs, activities, and scientificaccomplishments.
  • Assist with the development of VRC messaging and other products to communicate research successes.
  • Develop visual and written communication products associated with the NIH, NIAID, and VRC.
  • Prepare documents in accordance with office policies and procedures, including reviewing, revising, and editing asneeded. Ensure responses conform to applicable regulations, style manuals, and publication standards.
  • Review and analyze documents for logical, well-organized structure. Check and verify information for accuracy andconsistency using a variety of sources such as PubMed, Medline, and other Web sites and search engines.
  • Continually support new communications methods and approaches to increase efficiency in achieving goals andobjectives and ensure that communications messages are tailored to suit the appropriate audience and distributionmethods.
