Job Description

JOB PURPOSE


Supervises the distribution center inventory and provides direction to distribution center clerks and pullers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of farm supplies to farm sites.



RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS



  • Issue Purchase Orders to vendors and manage inventory received into JDE. Validate receivers with Distribution Receiving Clerk.
  • Ensure receipts, issues, and inventory adjustments are entered into JDE system timely and accurately.
  • Manage overall Distribution Center product inventory levels, monitoring frequency of use and set appropriate stocking levels and re-order quantities.
  • Effectively interface with all departments and maintain positive relations as to Distribution Center operations and product supply.
  • Effectively interface with vendors to any delivery concerns, timely and professionally.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and correct use of employee protection equipment.

REQUIREMENTS


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty/function satisfactorily.   • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school desired but not required; two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A self-motivated individual that can prioritize and complete critical assignments in a timely manner. Must be forklift certified.
  • Ability to use computers, have a complete understanding of inventory control system logic and the ability to learn and effectively use all other computer programs that are or will be made available.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.



WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noises level in the work environment is usually moderate.



NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
