Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Infectious Disease - Detroit Main Campus Full Time - 40 hours/week Clinic position. Hours between 8am - 4:30pm - no weekends/holidays This is a grant funded position. This position is involved in the Ryan White Project. RN works in the clinic. Responsibilities include: In-basket, telephone triage, scheduling patients, progress reports and presenting on reports. Main focus is being in clinic with patients. Assist providers, blood draws, administer injections, etc. Need to be comfortable working with the LGBTQ community. Our patients are enrolled in this program and come back periodically to be re-evaluated on their medications and f/u on their care. Candidate Preferences: Ambulatory Clinic RN experience. Good IV skills. Working with HIV patients a plus. GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates with the health care team. Demonstrates clinical competence. May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator when appropriate. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation. Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel. Preferred experience in the specialty. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy. Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard, i.e., Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN). Additional Information
