Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Specialist in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, supporting a secure environment through routine patrols and visible presence. You will help to deter security-related incidents and provide outstanding customer service while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and innovation. Armed guard card holders are eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification to help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Maintain detailed records and logs of activities, incidents, and observations during patrols.
  • Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and emergency personnel as needed.
  • Remain alert to any irregularities and communicate promptly with Allied Universal management regarding any concerns.
  • Adhere to all site-specific requirements for an armed patrol post, including the proper handling and carrying of assigned firearms.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR and first aid certification is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
