Job Description




As a Security Officer - Telecom Patrol in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal in a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. You will interact with employees and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter, adapting to various working environments and conditions.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or incidents to appropriate Allied Universal personnel and/or client contacts.
  • Assist visitors, employees, and contractors with questions or concerns, helping to foster a welcoming environment while maintaining security-related protocols.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other critical areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Support Allied Universal and client management by maintaining detailed and accurate records of daily activities and incidents.
  • Follow all company and client procedures, policies, and guidelines to support a secure and orderly environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
