As a Security Officer - Armed School Patrol in Hattiesburg, MS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. This role requires carrying a firearm and driving as part of your daily responsibilities. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, faculty, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the educational campus and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and various areas throughout the location to help to deter suspicious or prohibited behavior.
  • Complete detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and any unusual occurrences observed during patrols.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with Allied Universal management, local authorities, and campus staff as needed.
  • Operate and maintain assigned security-related equipment responsibly, including firearms, in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific policies.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay updated on security-related procedures and emergency response protocols relevant to the educational environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • One or more of the following is required: one or more years of law enforcement experience, two or more years of security supervisor or manager experience, or three or more years of security experience.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
