Job Overview

The Senior Manager Government Relations is responsible for and assists the Director and VP Public Affairs for the administration of Company political and legislative strategies in designated states, within their geographic area, including specified municipalities in that geography important to the Company's overall business strategy. The role maintains and develops key relationships with state and local policymakers. The Senior Manager Government Relations assists the Director and VP Public Affairs through monitoring regional legislative activity, attending committee meetings, political functions, as well as providing research in the development of the Company's government relations strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Manage and execute strategies to engage members in public policy input, comprehensive state, and local lobbying campaigns, and government relations. Tracks all engagement and produces communications to inform leaders
* Develop and maintain positive relationships and strategic partnerships with elected officials and policymakers to develop mutually beneficial partnerships to serve both the communities and to promote the Coca-Cola brand
* Represents the Company at appropriate dinners, legislative days, hearings, and other gatherings with key policymakers and influencers in a monitoring role as needed at the direction of the VP Government Relations
* Monitors legislation and issues of importance to the company at the direction of the VP Government Relations and provide policy research on issues important to the Company to assist in developing a comprehensive Government Relations strategy
* Develop and implement strategies with State Beverage Associations and other strategic partners to enable policy development and legislation to support development and growth

  • Takes initiative and operates proactively; ability to develop projects and meet goals with adequate supervision.
  • Strong understanding of political and legislative process preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge acquired through 1 to 3 years work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Communications, Business Administration, Public Administration

Work Environment

Office environment


The position will be fully- remote.


The position will have a focus on the Mid-Atlantic Region (DE,MD,DC,VA & WV) with an emphasis on West Virginia and Virginia.
