The Assistant VDC Manager is responsible for promoting and ensuring site and office safety, and assisting in the development, implementation, and support of VDC processes at both the company and project level. This includes assisting in the day-to-day execution for their assigned project(s) including, but not limited to managing, coordinating, supervising trade partners /vendors /personnel to facilitate work being completed on time and within budget while adhering to Webcor's quality standards and meeting client's expectation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes safety and site cleanliness on job site and enforces and effectively manages Webcor's safety policy and procedures.

  • Assists in the development of and compliance with companywide VDC standards.

  • Manages outsourcing of work to external BIM Consultant(s) including, but not limited to, forecasting, scheduling, estimating, QA/QC, meetings, and invoices.

  • Reviews prime contract for VDC requirements, identifies risks and opportunities, and works with the project team on respective mitigation and exploitation strategies.

  • Reviews buyout schedule to ensure that subcontractor on-boarding is aligned to support the respective VDC process.

  • Provides training and technical support to both internal teams /personnel and external project stakeholders, including but not limited to, Trade Partners, Design Teams and Owners on VDC tools and processes such as use of software, viewing models, extraction of quantity data, platform access, and workflows.

  • Assists project teams with processes, including but not limited to, spatial coordination, quantity take-off, design /constructability review using VDC technologies.

  • Assists with troubleshooting /resolving technical VDC related problems, either solely or with others, both internal and external.

  • Assists in oversight of periodic model QA/QC process.

  • Assists in developing /maintaining project BIM Execution Plans, VDC Processes, Checklists, and monitors project team conformance.

  • Assists in the evaluation of emerging technologies, pilot programs, and deployments of new technology.

  • Assists with measuring and reporting for key performance indicators (KPI's) relevant to VDC impact for assigned projects.

  • Assists with implementing VDC for Facility Asset Management, Commissioning, Operations and Maintenance.

  • Assists with the transition of VDC tools and practices between Project Planning (Pre-construction) and Project Delivery Group (Construction).

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Working Knowledge of Prime Contract, Subcontracts and Contract types: includes lump sum, GMP, hard bid, design-build, etc. pertaining to VDC scope and deliverables.

  • Working knowledge of Contract Documents, including reading and writing portions of Subcontracts.

  • Familiarity with all aspects of building construction including structure, architecture, envelope, finishes, MEPS, and site work

  • Proficient using MS Office, Bluebeam, Box, Smartsheet, and Zoom.

  • High level of competency with BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 Glue and other Autodesk products and applicable techniques.

  • Familiar with how 4D schedule process, various reality capture methodologies, VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality), UAV, and coordinate systems.

  • Strong ability to plan, problem solve, and troubleshoot with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high standard of quality.

  • Highly organized, able to set priorities and multi-task while being involved on multiple projects.

  • Stays current with emerging technologies, VDC software, integration and other applicable practices and technologies such as VR, AR, and UAV's.

  • Knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and forecasting as related to current and future VDC cost management.

  • Knowledge of BIM Forum LOD Specification and AIA Model Element Table

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture

  • Two plus years of BIM/VDC experience on construction projects involving preconstruction or construction operations, to include two to three years as a Trade Coordinator.

Range of base pay is $120,000-$135,000. Actual pay is based on individual skill level and experience.
