Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Rounds in Northborough, MA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a fast-paced tech location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control with badges and visitor check-in. You will document observations using a computer and/or tablet, assist with loss prevention awareness, and provide clear, professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, and/or visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech and telecommunications location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including lobbies, office spaces, loading and delivery areas, and perimeter routes, as directed by post orders.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by checking credentials, validating appointments, and/or directing visitors to sign-in procedures per site requirements.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, hazardous conditions, and/or policy violations, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with emergency services when requested.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, alarms, access control, and/or visitor management tools according to site procedures.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation including shift logs, incident reports, patrol reports, and/or maintenance notifications.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, key and/or badge control, and other site-specific administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities such as evacuation assistance, accountability support, and/or directing people to designated areas per posted instructions.
  • Maintain a professional presence and appearance while interacting with a diverse workforce in a fast-paced, technology-focused environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
