Job Description




As a Security Officer - Petrochemical Access Control in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, conduct routine patrols, and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will interact with site personnel and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a secure environment. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access to the location to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or activities.
  • Perform identification checks and verify credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises.
  • Assist with directing visitors and contractors as per site-specific protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and/or security-related breaches.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of access control activities, incidents, and observations.
  • Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting with directions and/or information related to site policies.
  • Support emergency response activities as required, in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Applicants must have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience or 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience or 3 years of security-related experience.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
