About the Role

Our marketing team prides itself on having an experimental mindset to unlock new ways to drive revenue and scaling them quickly with a data driven mindset. Behind all this lies the need to architect automations, integrations and scale processes. As the leader of the marketing operations team, you will hire and manage a team of high-performing builders who can take ambiguous problems and build solutions that stand the test of time. This role will report into our Senior Director of Growth Engineering.

We are committed to a thriving in-office culture. This role requires that you be on-site at our HQ in San Mateo, CA 5 days a week.


What You'll Do

  • Hire and manage a higher performance marketing operations team that can scale to multiple teams long-term (including campaign ops, architecture, data cleanliness and so on).
  • You'll be the point person for all demand generation campaign operations and new implementations.
  • You'll oversee the strategy and acquisition of our marketing tools, workflows, and automations required to scale our new lead acquisition methods.
  • You'll obsess over the operations of our lead ingestion to maximize the efficiency of every lead.
  • You'll build advanced automations via platforms such as Workato/AWS/Retool/etc that will work with existing sales/marketing platforms like Marketo/Salesforce to achieve a higher level of operational efficiency.
  • You'll become obsessed with ensuring everything within your sphere of influence is completely automated and designed for scale.
  • Research, negotiate and purchase net-new software tools that can help drive impact with a skeptical yet experimental mindset.
  • Build a waterfall process to maximize the purchase of these net new leads from databases while minimizing cost and enrich leads with missing data needed for proper routing in our 20M+ contact database.
  • This role is highly cross-functional: you'll work with executives, operations, engineering, analytics, brand, sales, and more to improve marketing campaigns, prioritize projects, and ensure alignment


What You Bring

  • 7-15 years of operations / engineering / marketing operations / product management or relevant experience.
  • Strong ability to take ambiguous problems and architect hacky and scalable solutions by integrating pre-built tools like Workato or and engineering with low-code software.
  • Strong ability to operationalize processes at scale
  • Strong ability to negotiate and manage multiple vendors simultaneously
  • Impeccable analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-moving startup or a hyper growth environment.
  • Experience with SQL, ETL/data pipelines, excel, and BI Tools (Looker or equivalent in order to properly query data sets for data cleanliness or email campaigns) highly preferred.
  • Big plus if you have an entrepreneurial hacker's mentality and are energized by finding novel ways to drive revenue.

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
