Overview

The Corporate CRE Management Trainee is an entry level position that will work under the guidance of the Portfolio Management Team and Lenders to support the day-to-day activities of the Corporate CRE Banking Department. The Corporate CRE Management Trainee will ultimately gain the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively and independently manage an assigned portfolio with little to no supervision. This position will assist in providing portfolio management and sales support to Managing Directors for new and existing relationships.

Responsibilities

    Work closely with Portfolio Managers and Lenders to learn the fundamentals of Corporate CRE banking including portfolio management, budget analysis and loan review
  • Develop an knowledge base of how to analyze construction budgets with an understanding of funds inflows and outflows of each line item and ability to build-out cash flow projections and construction budgets
  • Spread, analyze, and interpret complex business and personal financial statements and tax returns
  • Assist the portfolio management team with compliance monitoring and reporting by preparing annual client reviews, uploading financial statements, and other compliance information into the loan system
  • Assist with construction draw process for a portfolio of many commercial construction loans
  • Assist with the administration of the credit lines for regional homebuilder clients including booking and servicing individual construction loans
  • Assist lending teams in managing varying aspects of the loan portfolio including loan requests, loan renewals, and loan modifications by completing Loan Analysis Reports (LARs), Modifications (MODs), and Line of Credit Renewals as required
  • Assist Portfolio Managers and Lenders in the effort to extend credit in accordance with bank policy and within the risk parameters of the bank by identifying strengths and weaknesses of individual requests
  • Perform market analysis to compile targeted potential business client lists for lenders to utilize in business development
  • Collaborate with lenders and other internal business partners to identify sales opportunities with business and individual customers across the bank's full range of products
  • Represent the bank in community organizations and activities to enhance the bank's image and maintain and enhance a referral network for business development opportunities
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all bank products, services, processes and systems. Monitor new developments within the lending market, as well as compliance with loan policies and regulations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Proficient in use of PC software tools including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles with an emphasis on cash flow analysis
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
