The Department of Biology at Ball State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure line faculty position of Assistant Teaching Professor of Biology to teach undergraduate courses in Human Anatomy and Human Physiology beginning Fall 2026. We seek an energetic, collegial, and student-centered educator who is committed to high-quality teaching and mentoring of pre-professional health majors and biology students.

Position Summary:

The Department of Biology at Ball State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure line faculty position of Assistant Teaching Professor of Biology to teach undergraduate courses inHuman Anatomy and Human Physiologybeginning Fall 2026. We seek an energetic, collegial, and student-centered educator who is committed to high-quality teaching and mentoring of pre-professional health majors and biology students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses inHuman Anatomy, Human Physiology, and Introductory Biology courses.

  • Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement of A&P courses.

  • Provide academic and professional mentoring to undergraduate students.

  • Collaborate with departmental faculty and staff to maintain laboratory instruction that supports student success.

  • Participate in departmental, college, and university service as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in biological sciences or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by date of appointment.

  • Demonstrated ability or evidence of strong potential to teach undergraduate courses in Human Anatomy and Human Physiology.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in biological sciences or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.

  • College-level teaching experience.

  • Experience using evidence-based pedagogical practices.

  • Familiarity with educational technology platforms (e.g., Canvas, McGraw-Hill Connect, virtual labs).

  • Engaged in scholarly activity, as demonstrated by publications.
