Summary of Position Functions

The Sr. Controls Systems Engineer is a central technical resource who guides all phases of industrial control system projects including design, programming, commissioning, and post-project close out. The individual will be responsible for the timely delivery of energy optimization services for industrial automation systems, project implementation of digital service contracts, and management of associated software services. The position includes oversight of engineering support, creating and maintaining project schedules, direct customer interaction, periodic owner training sessions, progress reporting, contract management, and project budget management.

Essential Position Functions

• Design, program, monitor, maintain, and optimize industrial automation systems and graphical user interfaces.
• Participate in project development and cost estimation for various digital service offerings.
• Assist with and manage industrial automation or digital service focused projects by leading progress meetings, supervising subcontractors, ordering material, and managing budgets.
• Respond to and rectify customer support requests in a timely manner.
• Create and manage project implementation schedules to deliver projects on time.
• Communicate with customers to deliver a customer driven, quality product.
• Communicate with internal project managers (i.e. other Veregy departments) and verify project expectations and execution standards are met.
• Create internal and external facing technical documentation.
• Assign and manage project engineering tasks.
• Performing QA/QC tasks for project software and documentation deliverables.
• Manage project budgets and report progress.
• Develop close-out or system documentation for customer.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
• 8+ years related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Low to medium voltage electrical, control system, and instrumentation research and specification.
• Experience creating and validating various industrial network topology specifications and designs.
• Experience integrating data from various industrial control systems and communications protocols to standard, consistent format.
• Experience in project leadership or management.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Detail-oriented multi-tasker.
• Excellent written, verbal, and diplomatic communication skills.
• Strong collaborative skills; ability to collaborate with other engineers or clients to methodically solve complex problems.
• Desire to innovate with new processes and standards.
• Enthusiastic technical resource and mentor.
• Outgoing, energetic self-starter.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
