WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

As a CAD Drafter at nVent Management Company, you will play a crucial role in the composition and implementation of our innovative electrical solutions. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team and contribute to projects that ensure safety and efficiency. Here's what you will do:

  • Use customer specifications, drawings, and sales quotes to develop detailed structural/mechanical drawing packages, including floor plans, sections, elevations, part drawings, and anchor/lifting layouts under the direction of the project engineer.

  • Collaborate with the project engineer to make certain all documentation is provided and prepare requests for information when vital.

  • Develop and revise drawings per customer specifications and internal markups, ensuring compliance with code requirements and standard practices.

  • Provide dimensioned locations for cable tray, lighting, grounding, and other electrical equipment.

  • Develop details on attachment methods for electrical items and equipment.

  • Build detailed drawings for rack-mounted plates for protection/control panels.

  • Prepare bend specifications, weld specifications, and flat patterns for sheet metal elements applied in assembling prefabricated buildings and protection/control panels.

  • Modify wire diagrams as directed by the project engineer.

  • Engage with team members across departments to improve quality, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency.

YOU HAVE:

  • A high school diploma or G.E.D.

  • Three years of drafting or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with fastening and joining techniques, especially sheet metal-related.

  • Understanding of AWS welding symbols and their application to engineered working drawings.

  • Knowledge of drafting standards and manufacturing processes.

  • Demonstrated skills using SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

  • Proven skills in attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to work together with individuals across various functional divisions.

  • Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships across functional areas.

  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot build issues while providing direction to facilitate the assembly of products.

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$17.20 - $31.90 Per Hour

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
