Data Modeler

Job Summary:

Dexian is seeking a Data Modeler for an opportunity with a client located in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities:

• Engage directly with business users to understand, document, and clarify data requirements
• Translate business needs into logical and physical data models
• Design and create database tables and structures with consideration for downstream system integration and data usage
• Apply dimensional data modeling and Data Vault methodologies to support analytics and reporting
• Perform database analysis to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability
• Develop and optimize SQL queries to support data validation and reporting
• Collaborate with BI teams to ensure data models effectively support Power BI and/or Tableau reporting
• Ensure data models align with enterprise architecture standards and future-state system integration (e.g., data nexus environments)

Requirements:

• Traditional data modeling experience in finance or banking environments
• Strong expertise in dimensional data modeling
• Solid background in database analysis and relational database design
• Advanced SQL skills
• Exposure to business intelligence tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau
• Proven ability to communicate with business stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical data structures

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Experience with Data Vault modeling
• Oracle database experience
• Familiarity with enterprise data hubs or nexus-style architectures
• DBT Experience
