These Custodian positions are team members of the Wisconsin Union -Facilities Custodian Team. Duties include routine maintenance and cleaning, trash removal, snow removal, upkeep of the Memorial Union Terrace and other duties as needed. Work is performed under the guidance of a Custodial Services Supervisor.

-Position works at UW Madison- Memorial Union. (800 Langdon Street, Madison) and Union South (1308 West Dayton Street, Madison)

-Works both outdoors and indoors at Memorial Union & Union South.

-Schedule is:

40 hours per week

1 position is Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3pm

2 position are Tuesday - Saturday 6:30am-3pm.

**Days and times may change based on department needs.

**Applicants may be used for other positions that may open.

-These position are filling open positions for up to 6 months or less when the position is filled.

Wage is $17.00 per hour

*Differential Weekend pay for work performed on Saturday and Sunday $.80 per hours is added.

*Differential night pay, for work performed between 6pm-6am an addition $2.50 per hour added.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables
  • Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
  • Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities
  • Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
  • Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
