As a Security Officer - Municipal Healthcare Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible while supporting access control and responding to incidents with clear communication and customer-focused service. You will document security-related activity, assist staff and visitors, and help to deter unwanted behavior through a professional presence. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including corridors, lobbies, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Control access at designated entrances and restricted areas by verifying identification, directing foot traffic, and coordinating with site personnel for authorized entry.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, fire alarms, and other urgent events, and notify appropriate responders per post orders.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems as assigned, and report suspicious activity or hazards to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Support a professional environment by assisting with wayfinding, providing directions, and helping to resolve minor concerns before they escalate.
  • Perform rounds that include checking doors, gates, and sensitive areas, and report damaged property, unsecured entries, or unusual conditions through the proper channels.
  • Document patrol activity, incident details, and actions taken in written and/or electronic reports, maintaining accurate logs and shift pass-downs.
  • Coordinate with clinical and facilities teams during special situations such as patient elopement alerts, crowd control needs, and restricted-area requests, following site-specific procedures.
  • Participate in required training, briefings, and post-specific assignments, and follow Allied Universal and location policies, including uniform standards and radio communication protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
