Job Description




As a Security Officer - Data Center Driver Patrol in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech location as an unarmed patrol officer in a driving post. You will complete routine patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents, support access control, and document observations and/or concerns with clear communication. Working with a caring, people-first team, you will bring integrity, teamwork, and an agile, reliable approach while delivering standout customer service to employees and visitors.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology office and campus location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, labs, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance, access control, and policy concerns.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor authorizations, and deliveries in accordance with site requirements, directing individuals to appropriate check-in locations as needed.
  • Respond to alarms, calls for service, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and public responders when required.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions, policy violations, and suspicious behavior, documenting findings and escalating issues through the established chain of command.
  • Assist with incident management by completing detailed reports, maintaining activity logs, and preserving information for follow-up, as required by site procedures.
  • Support security-related screening and badging processes as directed, including checking packages and equipment movements per site policy.
  • Provide general assistance such as answering questions, giving directions, and helping manage crowd flow during meetings, shift changes, and special events.
  • Operate site-specific systems such as radios, access control tools, and video monitoring platforms when assigned, reporting issues for service and follow-up.
  • Follow post orders, client instructions, and Allied Universal expectations for appearance, conduct, and professionalism while working independently and/or as part of a team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1+ years of security experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
