Position Summary:
The Director of Business Development - Thin Film & Microelectronics is responsible for setting and executing the commercial growth strategy for this business unit. This role owns revenue and margin growth, drives designin and manufacturing engagements with strategic OEMs and highgrowth innovators, and builds a highperforming sales organization focused on thinfilm, and microelectronic assembly services and solid state batteries. The Director develops and maintains seniorlevel client relationships, shapes the BU technology and capacity roadmap in partnership with operations and engineering, and regularly communicates performance and strategy to the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own executivelevel relationships between the Thin Film & Microelectronics BU and strategic customers, acting as primary commercial sponsor for key programs and platforms.
  • Define and drive the BU growth strategy, including target markets, ideal customer profiles, and a prioritized opportunity pipeline across thinfilm, waferlevel processing, microelectronic packaging, and hybrid assemblies.
  • Build, lead, and develop a segment sales team; set goals, territories and incentives, and ensure consistent training on Cirtec value propositions, target applications, and competitive differentiation.
  • Use structured account planning and CRM tools to manage the opportunity funnel from early technical engagement through contract award, qualification, and volume ramp.
  • Coordinate meetings, technical reviews, and business negotiations with key clients to build strong, longterm partnerships and increase share of wallet.
  • Align internal Cirtec engineering, operations, quality/regulatory, program management, and site leadership to win new programs and ensure successful launch, transfer, and ongoing production.
  • Continuously communicate Cirtec's process, technology, and capacity roadmaps to existing and prospective customers, and capture VoiceofCustomer to inform BU investment decisions.
  • Participate in industry conferences, technical workshops, and ecosystem events in semiconductor, microelectronics, and medical electronics to network and stay current on market and technology trends.
  • Analyze market dynamics, customer roadmaps, and competitive activity to identify new growth opportunities, adjacencies, and partnership models.
  • Develop accurate annual and longrange forecasts for the BU in collaboration with Finance, Operations, and Site Leadership.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop content, campaigns, and positioning that elevate Cirtec's presence in thinfilm and microelectronics markets.
  • Lead commercial negotiations for NDAs, development agreements, and longterm manufacturing/supply agreements in partnership with Legal and executive leadership.
  • Travel 20%-50% for customer meetings, site visits, and industry events.


Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related technical field; MBA or equivalent level of business acumen required.
  • 10+ years of proven business development or sales leadership experience in medical device contract manufacturing, semiconductor/microelectronics manufacturing, advanced packaging, or related EMS/ODM environments.
  • Demonstrated success selling complex manufacturing and development services to major medical device OEMs and technology companies, including engagement with R&D, clinical/technical leaders, supply chain, and senior executives.
  • Experience structuring and negotiating major Manufacturing Supply Agreements, Design & Development Agreements, and complex quotations/proposals, ideally including waferlevel or microelectronic assemblies.
  • Ability to credibly engage on technology topics such as thinfilm deposition, photolithography, etch, advanced interconnects, packaging, and reliability/testing, translating technical value into compelling commercial propositions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and modern CRM tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and datadriven decisionmaking skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and peoplemanagement capabilities, with a track record of building and coaching highperforming commercial teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; able to influence across functions and at executive levels.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; highly organized, detailoriented, and persuasive


Anticipated base salary range: Competitive base salary from $150,000 to $200,000 per year depending on qualifications and experience.
