Overview
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. The Senior Delivery Lead is a senior portfolio execution leader responsible for driving the end-to-end delivery of the Enterprise Digital Sales & Service (DSS) Technology Portfolio, in close partnership with a Senior Delivery Director. This role operates at the enterprise program and portfolio layer, ensuring disciplined execution, transparency, and alignment across multiple value streams, platforms, and agile delivery teams. The Senior Delivery Lead provides day-to-day portfolio leadership across planning, execution, risk management, dependency coordination, portfolio health and delivery governance-translating strategic priorities into executable outcomes while maintaining delivery rigor at scale. The role acts as a key integrator across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Enterprise Program Office (EPO), and Enterprise teams, ensuring delivery standards are consistently applied without constraining team autonomy. This position is accountable for portfolio execution health, including delivery predictability, milestone integrity, dependency management, and escalation readiness across complex, multi-year initiatives supporting Digital Sales, Servicing, Client Onboarding, Marketing, and Client Experience platforms. The role complements the Senior Delivery Director by focusing on execution orchestration and operational excellence, rather than organizational design or people management. This role requires thought leadership and the ability to work autonomously while managing multiple mid to large sized and moderately complex processes, products, programs and portfolio in the delivery life cycle. It requires oversight of numerous parallel projects and cross-functional domains to influence timelines, expectations, and proactively negotiates across departments to attain business goals while managing overall risk to the bank.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Delivery Oversight
- Collaborates with leaders, enterprise PMOs, and product management to align strategic objectives and roadmaps for the specified business unit.
- Facilitates quarterly and annual planning focused on delivering business value outlined in strategic objectives and roadmaps.
- Uses individual judgement to make moderate to complex business decisions that could have noticeable impact to department or program results.
- Manages strategic relationships and alignment with peers and leadership within assigned projects and function.
- Contributes feedback towards defining organizational goals, workforce strategy, and enterprise standards to establish metrics.
- Advocates for the importance of adhering to processes and compliance standards within the delivery function.
- Advises leadership and drives adoption of enterprise standards and best practices across direct area of responsibility.
- Delivery Execution
- Lead execution of the Enterprise Digital Sales & Service Technology Portfolio, ensuring alignment between strategic priorities and delivery outcomes.
- Partner closely with the Senior Delivery Director and Enterprise leaders to operationalize portfolio strategy, delivery priorities, and execution standards.
- Orchestrate delivery across multiple programs, platforms, and agile release trains, ensuring consistent planning, sequencing, and execution.
- Drive portfolio-level planning and readiness, including PI execution alignment, milestone tracking, and delivery commitments.
- Proactively manage cross-program dependencies, risks, and issues, facilitating resolution through structured governance forums.
- Maintain a clear, fact-based view of portfolio health, including delivery status, risks, and trade-offs, and provide concise executive-level reporting.
- Serve as a primary delivery interface with Product, Engineering, Architecture, EPO, and Go-To-Market partners.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise delivery, risk, and audit standards in coordination with EPO.
- Enable continuous improvement in delivery execution through standardization of practices, tooling, and operating rhythms.
- Support executive decision-making by translating complex delivery dynamics into clear options and recommendations.
- Delivery Operations, Process Compliance Standards, Workforce, Financial, and Vendor Management
- Supervises program-level financial forecasts and end-of-month reconciliation efforts.
- Collaborates with leaders to effectively manage vendor relationships, optimizing the value vendors contribute to the organization by enhancing performance and aligning resources.
- Evaluates opportunities to streamlines processes and workflows to improve operational efficiency, addressing bottlenecks in the end-to-end flow.
- Implements best practices to drive efficiency and improve time to production.
- Partners with the enterprise PMO as needed to ensure all projects meet quality standards and compliance including SDLC, Project Management Lifecycle, Agile Standards, etc.
- Works with peers and junior staff to drive standardization of delivery practices in alignment to enterprise standards and controls.
- Drives best practices, governance, compliance and standards across the delivery organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in technology delivery, program management, or portfolio execution within large scale environments OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in technology delivery, program management, or portfolio execution within large scale environments Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree Preferred Area of Experience: IT Portfolio Management, Data, Software Development, Infrastructure, Vendor Management, Financial Institution, LFI (Large Financial Institution) License or Certification Type:
- Required
- SAFe certifications (SPC, LPM, RTE) and/or
- Project and delivery certifications (PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP)
- Preferred
- Technology or architecture certifications (Cloud, DevOps, Platform)
Required Skills:
- Previous oversight of technical or other similar implementations
- Knowledge of SDLC
- Knowledge of Execution Methodologies or Frameworks (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid)
- Knowledge of end to end delivery lifecycle from system or data design to implementation
- Understands how to collaborate with leadership to define strategy and approach for solving complicated technical problems
- Ability to deliver solutions that solve complex problems, using thought leadership and independent thinking skills
- Ability to lead others in the successful execution and delivery of long term, multi-layered projects and initiatives
