Description

Are you looking to be a communications change maker?
In this role, you will assist GSW Senior Editors on multiple projects, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all deliverables. This position requires flexibility, as you must be available to take on projects during off-business hours, including evenings, nights, and/or weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Proofread a variety of materials, including PowerPoint slides, websites, newsletters, brochures, and print ads.
  • Ensure correct grammar, spelling, and usage, as well as adherence to AMA, agency, and client style guides.
  • Maintain brand-specific style consistency throughout all projects.
  • Verify that references are listed and ordered correctly.
  • Perform detailed side-by-side comparisons for print and digital materials to ensure accuracy.
  • Confirm that production files, printer's proofs, and staging sites match approved layouts exactly.
  • Apply strong attention to detail across copy, layout, images, references, and functionality.
  • Work within digital staging environments, CMS platforms, and apply basic web QA concepts.
  • Utilize proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and markup tools.
  • Follow regulated workflows and maintain approved content integrity.
  • Adapt quickly to new tools, platforms, and technologies as needed.
  • Document and communicate discrepancies clearly and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of AMA style preferred, but not essential.
The Type of Person We're Looking For
  • Methodical, systematic, and process-oriented in reviewing work.
  • Naturally inclined to compare, verify, and validate content.
  • Confirms that requested changes are made exactly as directed and nothing else has changed.
  • Strong sense of responsibility for compliance, risk mitigation, and final-stage accuracy.
  • Calm, focused, and consistent when reviewing high volumes of content under tight deadlines.
  • Accountable and reliable, with a strong sense of ownership over accuracy.
  • Comfortable working on regulated content where precision matters more than creativity.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years' experience editing or proofreading content across multiple formats (e.g., digital, print, marketing, or editorial).
  • Proficiency with editing tools (e.g., Microsoft Word track changes, Adobe PDF markup).
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Strong command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style guidelines.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $35 but may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.

At GSW, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace. If your past experience doesn't align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway. At times, we will consider transferable skills from previous roles. We also encourage you to join our Talent Network to stay connected to additional career opportunities.

GSW is a full-service healthcare communications agency that goes beyond advertising to create personalized brand experiences that involve, inspire, educate and activate people through ongoing brand journeys. As one of the world's ten most-awarded healthcare advertising agencies, GSW is hell-bent not to replace the same old with the same old. This is achieved through a provocative premise - if other brands communicated the way healthcare brands do, how many customers would they have? GSW turns against this premise through discovery of beneath-the-surface customer insights that we impact with stories, simplicity and authenticity.
