Job Description




As a Security Officer - Fulfillment Center Patrol in Memphis, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a logistics and distribution location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, monitor assigned areas, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, respond to alarms and service calls, and communicate clearly with associates and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a logistics and distribution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and promptly notifying site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision as required.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout warehouse areas, loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, and along the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Control access points by monitoring entry and exit of employees, visitors, and drivers, verifying authorization as required by site procedures.
  • Monitor and report unusual conditions such as unsecured doors, broken seals, suspicious packages, and/or unauthorized persons, and escalate concerns through established communication channels.
  • Perform routine checks of gates, dock doors, fencing, and other physical barriers, and report maintenance concerns that may impact site operations.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by observing for theft indicators, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior, and reporting findings to appropriate site contacts.
  • Operate site systems as assigned, which may include radios, telephones, and visitor and/or incident logs, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Assist with incident response activities such as medical calls, fire alarms, severe weather, and/or evacuations in accordance with post orders and client instructions.
  • Complete detailed and accurate written reports, including shift activity logs, patrol documentation, and incident reports, in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience with customer service is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badging is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
