As an Access Control Officer in a residential community, you will help monitor entrances and common areas, verify credentials, manage visitor and vendor access, and conduct routine patrols to help discourage security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at resident community entry points by verifying identification, authorizations, and visitor purpose prior to granting entry.
  • Operate access control systems and devices such as gates, call boxes, intercoms, and credential readers, reporting malfunctions per post orders.
  • Maintain accurate entry and exit logs for vehicles and pedestrians, including visitor, vendor, and contractor documentation as required.
  • Issue temporary visitor passes and provide directions to community buildings, amenities, and approved parking areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to property management, local responders, and/or Allied Universal supervision when needed.
  • Monitor cameras and alarms when assigned, documenting security-related observations and notifying appropriate contacts when irregular activity is observed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of community common areas, parking areas, building exteriors, and perimeter to help to identify and report hazards, maintenance issues, and security-related concerns.
  • Support move-in and move-out, vendor access, and scheduled service appointments by confirming approvals and directing traffic flow per site procedures.
  • Complete shift reports and incident documentation with clear, timely details, and communicate ongoing issues during post turnover.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years of security experience.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
