Job Description

The Global Pricing Strategy team at Visa is responsible for managing pricing with the objective of driving revenue growth of Visa's network and adoption of value-added services globally. Pricing is a critical lever in driving revenue objectives and is central to Visa's business. The Pricing Strategy team provides pricing expertise and collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Client Services, Finance, Legal and more. We are a small but impactful team which works with leaders and executives to design pricing solutions and drive revenue growth.

The Director of Pricing Strategy will lead and execute US deal strategy, initiatives related to Visa's North America pricing objectives and broader corporate goals. You will be responsible for development of pricing frameworks to support our business on the most strategic deals. This position requires strong thought leadership, analytical skills,and the ability to solve a range of business problems. A successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, who excels at quickly grasping and clearly communicating complex topics with variety of cross-functional stakeholders and teams.

This role will report to the Senior Director, Global Pricing Strategy and will be based at Visa's offices in San Francisco, California or Foster City, California.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead client deal pricing and strategy to grow partnership opportunities, oversee negotiation process end-to-end including deal structuring, deal execution and implementation
  • Drive efforts focusing on card acceptance growth, which includes managing existing deal performance and spearheading creation of new strategic pilots to address key acceptance challenges
  • Contribute pricing expertise in collaboration with cross-functional teams (Product, Interchange, Finance, Legal, Sales, etc) across deals and broader global/regional pricing initiatives
  • Provide rigorous, quantitative and qualitative analyses in support of identifying and vetting opportunities to drive revenue growth
  • Develop team members, including coaching, training and motivating the team dedicated to deals, pricing strategy and strategic business development initiatives

Specific projects will vary greatly in sponsor, business or strategic focus, depth, and stakeholder served, ranging from broad coordination efforts across multiple countries and/or functional areas to focused special assignments for senior management that are of particular high strategic importance to Visa Inc.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Advanced level of Excel, PowerPoint with hands-on experience working with large data sets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with practical experience in financial or statistical modelling and quantitative analysis
  • Executive presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages in written and verbal communications
  • Proven ability to collaborate closely with and influence cross-functional stakeholders across multiple levels and organizations
  • Experience leading and managing a high performing team
  • Prior experience working on pricing strategy, revenue growth initiatives and/or deal strategy
  • Self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and an eye for details to ensure accuracy and quality of output
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 170,700.00 to 273,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
