The primary duty of the Springfield Roadway Team Lead is to manage our roadway design staff in their work on projects for the DOT's and Local Public Agencies in the state of Missouri. Additionally, this position will build relationships with clients, develop pursuits, attract staff and work on project delivery in a production role. The Springfield Roadway Team Lead will continue to work as a Senior Project Manager capable of pursuing and delivering complex transportation projects for DOT and Local Public Agency clients in southwest Missouri. Familiarity with MoDOT is important as well as relationships with staff at cities and counties in the area. Project involvement will range from leading feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase. Experience should include urban and rural municipal/local projects, DOT projects, traffic management, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans. Highway and interchange design experience are a key requirement for this position. Coordination of multi-discipline projects inclusive of survey, grading, drainage, structures, and utilities and layout of various site items is a requirement. Experience in supervising the work of a medium to large staff of professional and technicians is required. Project Management, quality assurance/control checks, and technical review experience are required. Marketing and project pursuit experience are key requirements of this position. The position would also involve preparation and negotiation of proposals, scopes, budgets, schedules. It would also include day-to-day communication (verbal and written) with the client, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with sub-consultants, and keep projects on schedule and within budget. The Springfield Roadway Team Lead will also be performing other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management experience with understanding of Earned Value desirable

  • Prefer candidates with previous work experience with an A/E/C Engineering firm

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 7 years experience
  • Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
