Overview

Nakupuna Companies is looking for a Business Process Analyst to support a client of the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW). The ideal candidate is an expert communicator and process improvement SME who has experience with complex process analysis at the Department of War (DoW).



Responsibilities

The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. The ideal candidate will:

    Apply process analysis, improvement, and reengineering methodologies to conduct process modernization projects.
  • Apply activity and data modeling, transaction flow analysis, internal control and risk analysis, and performance measurement techniques.
  • Provide business process management analysis support by assessing current client processes and analyze them for effectiveness, highlighting potential bottlenecks, roadblocks, and major problem areas. The analysis shall include recommendations to overcome or mitigate these concerns and streamline the processes.
  • Provide recommendations for business process improvements, develop implementation plans and execute.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and documentation related to the client operations.
  • Develop, manage, and provide training on business processes and procedures.
  • Provide task management support by developing a mechanism for tracking all client taskers from initiation through to closure.
  • Construct business improvement opportunities consistent with Information Management guiding principles, cost savings, and open system architecture objectives. Advise on all related issues concerning implementation of Business Transformation methodologies.
  • Serve as key coordinator among multiple project teams to ensure enterprise-wide integration of reengineering efforts. Facilitate transition of existing project teams through interviewing, training, and additional forms of knowledge transfer.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing at the highest levels of government. Draft DoW senior executive decision documents and presentations, to include briefings and data, in accordance with available templates, formats, and style guidance.
  • Support multiple complex and multi-faceted projects.


Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate has experience with the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of responsibilities and functions of DoW organizations; and demonstrated ability to communicate and work with senior executives across Executive Branch agencies, the Military Departments, and other DoW organizations.
  • Self-motivated, exceptional oral and written communications, and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly proficient in SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Education and Experience: This position requires:

  • A Master's Degree in a related area.
  • The Project Management Institute - Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) certificate or equivalent perferred; and
  • 20 years of program management experience responsible for support planning, developing, and executing major programs within the DoW, preferably within the OSW or WHS.

Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Location: Work is performed on-site at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
