Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking a Patient Care Technician to become part of our team of dedicated professionals! As a member of our Magnet-designated Nursing team, you will provide support to the inpatient nursing staff while helping ensure the comfort and safety of our patients and their family members.

M17: Head/Neck Hepatobiliary

42-bed inpatient unit specializing in the surgical care of patients with head and neck cancers, complex reconstructions, and thoracic procedures. The unit also has telemetry monitoring capacity, supporting higher level specialized care with rapid interventions. Staff care for a diverse patient population with complex wounds, airways, and post-operative needs.

Role Overview:

  • Work under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse and assist patients in a timely and efficient manner

  • Handle patient care situations with a high level of integrity, compassion, and professionalism

  • Responsible for taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and collecting specimens

  • Collaborate with the clinical team and provide assistance with procedures as needed

  • Use basic computer and data entry skills to support clinical documentation

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare-related experience in one or more of the following roles:

    • Nursing Assistant (NA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Medical Technician, Phlebotomist, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

OR

  • If less than 2 years of experience:

    • A Nursing Assistant or other healthcare-related certification obtained within the past 12 months, AND

    • At least 1 year of healthcare-related experience in one of the roles listed above

  • BLS certification required by time of hire

  • Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY

  • Schedule: Nights7pm-7:30am; Monday through Friday, weekend and holiday rotation

  • Reporting to: Nurse Leader

Pay Range: $23.54 - $35.44 FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
