Job Description

A mid-level Tooling Manufacturing Engineer job in South Burlington, VT is currently available at Belcan. This is a contract to direct hire position. This job requires the engineer to be onsite however a hybrid schedule is acceptable once the engineer is fully integrated into the existing manufacturing team. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field, preferably Mechanical, and at least 7 years of manufacturing/composite engineering and/or mechanical engineering with applicable hands-on experience.

Job Duties:
The engineer will complete manufacturing and mechanical design tasks associated with the updating and creation of aircraft tooling and support equipment on a growing production line. The production line contains tooling used for both metallic and composite aircraft components and assemblies. The engineer will be responsible for tooling CAD and drafting changes as driven by assembly needs as well as work order modifications and creation for the tools that they have ownership of. The engineer will work with technicians to ensure proper usage of tools and optimize the overall production of the aircraft. The engineer will investigate and disposition manufacturing issues using sound engineering reasoning and problem-solving abilities as the problems occur. The engineer will also be responsible for status communication regarding their tooling to all levels of project and assembly floor stakeholders.

Required:
oBachelor of Science degree in an engineering field from an accredited institution.
o7+ years of experience in a manufacturing and/or mechanical design industry with hands on experience.
oCandidate must have Solidworks modeling and drafting experience.
oCandidate must have excellent hands on mechanical aptitude skills.
o Candidate must have excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
oCandidate must be able to excel in a fast-moving manufacturing and assembly environment.
oCandidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
o Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:
oExperience and understanding of manufacturing processes, specifically with the manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering validation of aircraft component/assembly tooling and composite components/tooling.
oExperience using configuration management and change control softwares and practices.
oExperience working independently and exerting sound judgement when dealing with complicated engineering and manufacturing problems.
oAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including their overall schedules and completion of their deliverables under tight deadlines.
o Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives as they relate to manufacturing settings and processes.
oFamiliarity with aerospace R&D/production tooling and support equipment.

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a pay rate of $50/hr to $65/hr however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
