TIG Welding Technician
Position Summary
The TIG Welding Technician is responsible for performing gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW/TIG) operations on various metal components, using both manual and automatic welding methods. The role includes preparing, assembling, and fusion welding metal parts according to specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare and assemble metal components for welding.
*Perform TIG welding operations using manual and automatic techniques.
*Ensure proper handling and disposal of weld rods and consumables.
*Follow quality systems, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols.
*Maintain housekeeping and organization of the work area.
*Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
*Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
*High school diploma or equivalent.
*Technical training or prior experience in TIG welding preferred.
*Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
*Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and welding instructions.
*Knowledge of welding procedures, safety, and equipment operation.
*Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
*Primary work location: Manufacturing floor.
*Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling/crouching, and exposure to noise.
*Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
