Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Burgaw, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors through clear communication and professional customer service. This post requires an Armed Guard Card or License and a valid driver's license under AU Driver Policy requirements. You will bring agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct armed patrols, including regular and random rounds of interior and exterior areas, perimeter routes, and parking areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or hazards.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, requesting additional assistance, and coordinating with on-site leadership and/or law enforcement as directed.
  • Monitor and control access points, verify identification and authorizations, manage visitor processing, and help maintain orderly movement through controlled areas in accordance with post orders.
  • Complete security-related reports and documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and communicate observations and concerns to supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Armed Guard Card/License.
  • 6 Months+ Armed Security/Law Enforcement/Military Experience.
  • 21+ Years of Age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
