Overview

The successful candidate will report to the Program Supervisor for the Propulsion Plant and Ship Systems Directorate and will supplement Managers and their staffs. They will work with Program Representatives and personnel from other engineering directorates to ensure a smooth and coordinated effort of responses from outside of the directorates. This position will interface and grow relationships with various engineering departments, HR, facilities, IT, training, safety and finance.

Responsibilities will include the following:

    PP&SS Program Group: Provide weekly metrics updates
    • Tracking of hiring and attrition for status and weekly metric updates
    • Assist in compiling weekly Director performance data
    • Analyze metrics to assist in problem resolution for the Directorate
    • Provide backup to other Program reps with weekly tasking (FTQ, TPQ, Power BI updates, EVMS analysis, & manpower analysis)
  1. Directorate hiring support: Liaison between HR and hiring managers to ensure candidate flow meets the needs of the Directorate
    • Development of tracking and statuses for requisitions including summer interns and co-ops
    • Support on-boarding new hires at the Directorate and department levels
  2. Support the Piping design manager and the design department
    • Create and maintain weekly shop order lists
    • Track service and support charging
    • Custodian of X drive folder - permissions and storage usage
    • Coordinate emergent requests from department management as needed
  3. Internal ATA Audits: Directorate POC to support ATA audits required by DCAA
    • Lead an audit team to perform quarterly audits within Directorate
  4. Commitments: POC for any Directorate and department needs for accessing and updating the commitment database
    • Ability to create, modify and close various commitment types
  5. Quarterly Staffing Lines: POC for Directorate and department updates
    • Coordinate department level quarterly staffing line updates
    • Review, analyze and compile inputs for Director approval
    • Liaison between Directorate and Resource Planning
  6. Training: Liaison between Directorate and Training department on any issues
    • Schedule all instructor led training: RADCON and Shipyard Required Training
    • RADCON POC for all Directorate RADCON training issues
    • Provide reports as required by all levels of management
    • POC to add any new training to employees SRT
  7. Facilities: Liaison between the Directorate, Facilities, Safety and Engineering to identify needs and solutions
    • Work with Directorate management to identify space needs for new hires.
    • Directorate Safety Rep
  8. POC within the design and engineering community for issues on ICIMs, training, Lotus Notes and hiring activities. Act as a resource for various management requests.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of related experience with any of the following: training, audits, hiring, staffing, attrition, Electric Boat software programs, department coordination efforts
  • Demonstrated Microsoft Excel skills: ability to create, analyze and graph various datasets for report and metric creation
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active secret security clearance

Preferred:

  • Advanced Degree in engineering, finance, business or equivalent
  • Understanding of resource-based scheduling and planning tools
  • Experience with Electric Boat business system and performance monitoring tools


Skills

This job requires a candidate to be interested and enthusiastic in organizational performance, resource planning and comfortable interfacing with upper management.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint including the ability to develop formulas, create and sort databases, create graphical reports and charts for management review
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be well-organized and capable of handling multiple assignments at the same time
