Summary:

This individual promotes our culture, our 5 P's and our purpose to be our customer's competitive advantage. This role provides comprehensive support to the Contractor Field Services team by managing operational, administrative, and coordination activities. Key responsibilities include overseeing traveler billing and invoicing, coordinating inboarding and training programs, supporting workforce relocation, and maintaining resource and asset dashboards. The position also involves organizing events, assisting with travel arrangements, providing sales support, and creating content for internal communications. Success in this role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering lasting value.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Manage Traveler billing and customer invoicing
  • Represent Contractor Field Services team at Recruiting events
  • Establish a regular meeting cadence between leaders and their teams
  • Coordinate IN boarding for new team members and serve as primary training ambassador
  • Oversee training programs and development plans
  • Support relocation and housing arrangements for traveling workforce
  • Create and maintain resource, asset and people dashboards
  • Organize Celebration meetings and location-based events
  • Assist Contractor Field Services with travel arrangements
  • Provide sales support as needed
  • Develop and publish content for Van Meter Insider
  • Review invoices and assist with month-end closing processes
  • Manage miscellaneous administrative tasks
  • Coordinate safety compliance and training, including PPE, certifications, site orientations, and OSHA requirements
Requirements

Critical Success Factors:

  • Familiarity with traveler roles and related workflows
  • Strong understanding of customers and site locations
  • Based in Urbandale, IA
  • Willingness to travel periodically (typically 1-5 days at a time, not weeks or months)
  • Technical skills in dashboard management, Eclipse, and VM Insider page
  • Strong focus on safety
  • Driver for continuous improvement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to understand, communicate and implement processes and procedures
  • Ability to lead by example with a positive work ethic and attitude
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems and develop solutions

Job Requirements/Specifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous Traveling Construction Coordinator experience preferred
  • Previous distribution experience preferred
  • Electrical product knowledge is preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance preferred
  • Knowledge of Eclipse preferred
  • Experience working with Power BI and Excel preferred
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Ability to work a varied shift
  • Ability to travel as necessary
