Job Summary:
As an Aircraft Mechanic II (Power Plants) you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing
various aircraft systems, including engines, avionics, hydraulics, armament, landing gear, and
more. You will be responsible for ensuring aircraft readiness, inspecting and repairing systems, and
managing other mechanics to ensure tasks are completed on time
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Aircraft System Repairs & Rebuilds: Perform maintenance on aircraft structure, engines, gearboxes, rotor
systems, and avionics. This includes using various tools (e.g., welding, sheet metal brakes, rivet guns, and drills)
to ensure all components are properly maintained.
Inspections & Troubleshooting: Conduct inspections (e.g., 175-hour, isochronal, and phase inspections),
focusing on engine components, hydraulic systems, and more. Use testing equipment to assess engine function
and replace damaged parts as needed.
System Adjustments & Repairs: Adjust, repair, and replace electrical wiring systems and other accessories.
Ensure all aircraft systems are in safe operating condition.
Flight Support: Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, ensuring the aircraft is
properly serviced and safe for operation.
Aircraft Handling: Participate in jacking, towing, and moving aircraft. Record all maintenance activities, ensuring
safety of flight items are addressed.
Leadership & Supervision: Assign tasks, monitor work completion, and ensure safety procedures are followed
during repairs and inspections. You may also manage and supervise junior mechanics as needed.
Specialization Areas: Potential for specialization in areas like engine repair, airframe maintenance, electrical
systems, or armament.
Safety & Quality Compliance: Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work environment, and ensure
compliance with quality standards. Participate in programs like FOD (Foreign Object Damage) prevention and
Hazmat handling.
Record Keeping & Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed in OOMA or similar
to OOMA systems ensuring compliance with 4790 and safety standards.
Additional Duties:
Maintain a clean and safe work environment (shop housekeeping).
Obtain and maintain certifications: CDQAR (Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative).
Participate in safety programs and ensure the proper disposal of hazardous materials.
Manage or coordinate maintenance programs as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of three years of H-60 series aircraft maintenance experience (or equivalent rotary aircraft
experience), with at least three years of experience as a CDI/CDQAR. MH60-R experience is preferred.
Qualifications: Ability to obtain and maintain required qualifications in line with U.S. Navy maintenance
guidelines.
Security: Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Background Check (and possible secret clearance).
Physical Requirements: Must meet the physical standards and pass a medical exam.
Language: Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
Working Conditions:
* Must be capable of lifting 50lbs and performing physical tasks as required.
* Computer usage for documentation using codes and clear written and verbal English language
required.
* Constant use of eye sight abilities while reviewing documents, walking around work areas and
constant use of English language speech/hearing abilities for communication.
* Constant mental alertness around all work areas, must possess planning/organization skills, and
must be able to work under deadlines.
* Climbing aircraft using aircraft step and all types of ladders or stands.
* Standing for a long period of time with minimal sitting.
* Ability to work under extreme weather conditions.
* Work site has head, hand, hearing, eye, slip and trip hazards shall use proper PPE and proper
safety procedures.
* Must be able to work all shifts. Full-time employment: however, 40 hours is not guaranteed per-week.
Working hours; must be able to be flexible, start time and end time will be dependent on flight schedule
and or overall tasking.
