Summary:

The Program Manager Benefits is responsible for leading and coordinating strategic and operational projects across the Retirement, Health & Welfare, and Wellness teams within the Benefits department. This role ensures the successful execution of initiatives that enhance the Associate experience, improve operational efficiency, and support organizational goals. Working closely with the Strategic Director of Benefits, the Program Manager will apply structured project management methodologies to drive execution, manage cross-functional teams, and deliver measurable outcomes across all benefits domains.

Responsibilities:


  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects across Retirement, Health & Welfare, and Wellness teams, ensuring alignment with departmental and enterprise goals.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable project plans with clear timelines, milestones, and success metrics.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams, including internal stakeholders and external vendors, to ensure coordinated execution and accountability.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including charters, workplans, risk logs, and status reports.
  • Facilitate project meetings and communications to ensure transparency, alignment, and timely issue resolution.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resource allocations to ensure efficient execution and value delivery.
  • Support compliance-related initiatives by coordinating regulatory updates, audits, and documentation across benefits domains.
  • Lead vendor onboarding, offboarding, and transitions, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal service delivery.
  • Partner with communications and change management teams to support rollout strategies and stakeholder engagement across all benefits areas.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Provide post-implementation analysis and reporting to assess project impact and inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Strategic Director, System Director of Benefits and operational teams to ensure strategic alignment and execution readiness.
  • Must have strong organizational and task management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Must have the ability to translate strategic goals into actionable project plans and deliverables.
  • Must have proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills
* Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with project management platforms such as Monday.com or Smartsheet is a plus.

Experience
* 7 years of experience in lieu of a degree, 3-5 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably within Benefits, Total Rewards, or HR operations.
* Experience supporting or leading projects such as ERP implementations, vendor transitions, process improvements, open enrollment, and M&A integrations.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
* PMP or CAPM certification preferred.
* Agile or Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.

In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.
